ASAP in conjunction with the Tennessee Department of Children's Services strives to provide its users with resources to assist with pre and post adoption needs that families face. You are encouraged to search out online resource database using the search box above. Additionally we have selected several resources below for easy access.

  • Adoption Learning Partners - An online adoption education community seeking to improve adoption outcomes for all members of the adoption circle by providing a vibrant, innovative, educational resource on the Internet
  • ATTACh – Association for Treatment and Training in the Attachment of Children - International coalition of professionals and families dedicated to helping those with attachment difficulties by sharing knowledge, talents, and resources
  • Casey Family Services - Fully licensed and accredited non-profit child welfare agency providing a broad range of programs to meet the changing needs of vulnerable children and families
  • Child Trauma Academy - Every year millions of children undergo physical or emotional trauma. On this site you'll find free online courses that offer creative and practical approaches to understanding and working with maltreated children.
  • Downloadable Adoption Handouts - helpful articles to read and share, available for free download from Adoptive Families.com 
  • Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute - A national not-for-profit organization devoted to improving adoption policy and practice - through sound research, education and advocacy - in order to better the lives of everyone touched by adoption  
  • Joint Council on International Children’s Services - A leading voice in intercountry children’s services, JCICS promotes ethical child welfare practices, strengthens professional standards, and educates adoptive families, social service professionals, and government representatives throughout the world.
  • North American Council on Adoptable Children (NACAC) - Through advocacy, education, adoption support, and leadership development in the U.S. and Canada, NACAC helps to reform systems, alter viewpoints, and change lives.
  • PACT, An Adoption Alliance - comprehensive site addressing issues for adopted children of color and their families
  • Parent A Child is an on-line resource service connecting potential and/or active adoptive families to links on how to become an adoptive parent, dates and locations of current trainings and support groups in their area. You may also meet some of the children waiting for their forever family by viewing their In My Own Words video.

ASAP Lending Library
The ASAP Resource Library offers a collection of resource materials, including books and videos, for loan to ASAP clients and interested members of the community. These materials address issues common to adoptive families, and are made available for the purposes of sharing information and community education. Resource materials may be used as part of a family's care plan.
