Through its many programs, Catholic Charities of Tennessee, Inc. serves thousands of people in communities throughout Middle Tennessee, developing and providing human services which enhance and enrich the quality of life for people in need. Catholic Charities, through its more than 50 different programs, assists more than 60,000 people each year. Services include family assistance and community employment services, pregnancy counseling, adoption services and adoption support, refugee services, child welfare services, geriatric care and support services, counseling for individuals and families, Hispanic family services, including ESL (English as a Second Language), and immigration services. Harmony Adoptions of Tennessee, Inc. has been helping grow families through adoption since 1996. Harmony’s approach to adoption embraces more than simply the placement of children, including education, counseling, and support services as essential aspects of the adoption process. Harmony works to promote health, safety, and emotional well-being for children and families through assessment, education, treatment, and support. Its mission is furthered through the development of national and local partnerships, combining skills, perspective, and ingenuity to make a difference for those served. Its programs are designed and services are provided based on nationally held standards for excellence. Harmony provides both domestic and international adoption services. Its Infant Adoption Training Initiative provides training to healthcare and counseling professionals on the adoption alternative for women facing crisis pregnancies. The Partners for Recruitment, FOCUS (Finding our Children Unconditional Support), Adoption Support and Preservation, HART (Harmony Attachment Resource Team), and Healthy Marriage, Healthy Family programs work to find, support, and nurture adoptive families for Tennessee’s waiting children.
